Ekiti Elite in US Write Fayose, Urges Him to Avoid Distraction

Following various crises being witnessed in Ekiti State in recent times,
particularly the friction between the Peoples Democratic Party and All
Progressives Congress, a group of  Ekiti professionals in the United
States of America has advised Governor Ayodele Fayose to guard
against distraction in his quest to foster development in the state.

To actualise the dream, the group advised Fayose in a letter dated March 10, 2016, and signed by its Coordinator, Mr Samuel Ayodele, to find a
way of carrying opposition  political parties along for his
government to be a success.

The letter, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Ado
Ekiti on Friday,  advised  Fayose to concentrate on the issue of governance  now
that the  electioneering period is over, saying: ”It is time to deliver
on all your electioneering promises, of which Ekiti people will play a
good part, regardless of party affiliations”.
The group stated that there is no gain-saying the fact that leadership
is very tasking , reminding that  its results are measured by
performances and ability to aggregate all shades of opinions to ignite
good governance for the commoners.
“Your Excellency, the trajectory of your political life has become a
phenomenon in Nigeria’s history. You have been so favoured by God and
the good people of Ekiti by voting you twice as a governor and you
need to reciprocate the gesture by being humble, focused and create
atmosphere of peace for all and sundry, including your archest enemy.
“You have become the governor of Ekiti  State again. It was an
expensive, highly comprehensive task, and everything rests on your
shoulders . It is time for you to live up to the expectations of the
voters, so that your worth as a leader can match your much-touted
sobriquet ;‘ the friend of the masses’, which the people had known you
for.”
