New Music: Shinobi - Born Winner

'Tobi O. Osinubi better known as Shinobi is a Lagos-born-Port Harcourt-based songwriter/singer/rapper/producer. The foundation of music for him started in high school, where he was a high-scoring student who never felt his true intelligence was expressed through a report card.

He found music was the best way to express himself, and after taking the name Lil’ Toby, he began writing rhymes on beats he produced. Combining a strong work ethic with aggressive self-promotion, Shinobi began recording songs and working on an album before getting into the university. Admission into Covenant University shifted the rapper’s focus and put the album on hold.
While in the university, he released the infectious single ‘Someday’ which featured fellow student, Emmsong. Shinobi raised his profile by popping up on mix-tapes and remixes including collaborations with Benny Paladin; and has worked with ace producers such as SamKlef and JoshBeatz.
Shinobi carved out his own style which has a fusion of Hip-Hop, R&B and Reggae. One word describes his kind of music - Different! Listen to his new song, “Born Winner” above.
